Born to Oxbreaker and _ was Rubykit, alongside his sister _. Both showed to be strong warrior potential, Rubykit was clearly brave and loved to prove himself, even in kithood. He wasted no time and started training early via bug catching. Both his parents were successful and respected warriors, so he felt the pressure to live up to their reputations. He did this well. 
When Rubykit became an apprentice, he trained restlessly. Often getting the attention of many she-cats. He kept his mind on the clan as a whole though, very picky about who he'd take as a mate. Around 10 moons old his mother was murdered by foxes. She was being too brave in her venture, and paid the price. After this happened Rubypaw's father became very harsh. Scolding Rubypaw for every mistake, small ones included.
Rubypaw began to grow frustrated, but he hid it well. He missed his mom. Instead of the spontaneous young tom he was before he became reserved and serious. Sometimes lazy, but still very brave. Soon after he earned his warrior name Rubysear for his quick and harsh reactivity in battle of word, tooth, and claw.
